Graduate Assistantships

Application Overview

Graduate assistants provide research, instructional, and administrative support to ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ's faculty and administration.  A maximum of 15 hours per week are spent in their assistantship role and the remainder of their time is devoted to their academic pursuits. This combi²ÝÁñÊÓƵ of service, study, research, and teaching (when applicable) constitutes a full-time commitment. Assistantships are competitive positions that are highly sought after. They present a rewarding opportunity for you to participate in a vibrant academic community.

Available Campus Ministry Graduate Assistantship Job Descriptions will be listed on the Graduate Assistantship page. Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ University
  • Willingness to grow, learn and share in a faith-based community
  • Exhibit time management and organizational skills
  • Model commitment to dependability and accountability
  • Appreciation of the role of faith development as part of a Jesuit education.
  • Willingness to grow, learn and share in a faith-based community
  • Willingness to learn about and work with sensitivity to diversity and privilege.
  • Ability to engage students with diverse views and experiences
  • Appreciation for the role of faith development as part of a Jesuit education
  • Respect for supervision, peers, the office and partnership
  • Care for self and others
  • Availability for two-year commitment (upon re-evaluation at the end of the first year) would be preferred, although not required.
  • Familiarity and willingness to learn about Ignatian Spirituality and the life of St. Ignatius.

Mandatory Responsibilities

  • Attend training day with previous Graduate Assistant in Fall or Spring semester.
  • Attend on-campus training days: (in late August)
  • Attend occasional staff meetings and formation days throughout the academic year (Dates TBD).
